Free Lunches for Kids Served through Summer

 

Children in Alameda 18 and younger can take advantage of a program courtesy of the Alameda Unified School District that offers free lunch and breakfast at select sites throughout the summer. The meals are available each weekday except Wednesday, July 4.

Free breakfasts will be served at four sites: Alameda High (2201 Encinal Ave.) and Haight Elementary (2025 Santa Clara Ave.) schools from 8 to 9 a.m. through July 13; Alameda Point Collaborative (677 W. Ranger Ave.) from 9 to 10 a.m. through Friday, Aug. 10, and the Alameda Boys and Girls Club (1900 Third St.) from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. through Aug. 10.

Free lunches will be available at four sites from noon to 1 p.m. through Aug. 10: Alameda Boys and Girls Club, Alameda Point Collaborative, Washington Park (740 Central Ave.) and Shinsei Garden Apartments (401 Stargell Ave.) Alameda High and Haight Elementary schools will serve free lunches from 12:30 to 1 p.m. and 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. respectively through Aug. 10.

Younger children may be accompanied by parents or guardians, but only children will be served a meal. No application required.
