Frank Bette Center Reopening Set for Sept. 30

Frank Bette Center for the Arts (FBCA) is holding a grand reopening and fundraiser Friday, Sept. 30. The event will include live poetry readings, hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar serving wine and beer and a silent auctions of art, gifts and unique experiences.

Frank Bette Center’s focus is to fulfill and build upon Frank Bette’s dream to create and maintain “a place for meetings, readings, showings, and other creative doings.”

The center entertains an estimated 6,000 individuals from Alameda and the surrounding Bay Area communities through group or solo art exhibits, classroom instruction in a variety of media and regularly scheduled events in music, poetry and storytelling.

All proceeds from the grand reopening will support the center. The event will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets in advance of the event are $20 and $30 at the door. Tickets may sell out quickly. FBCA is located at 1601 Paru St.
