Foundation Offers Low-Cost Art Kits

Creating art helps children process their world and deal with emotions in safe ways. Art can be fun while also providing healing and solace during times of stress.

Alameda Education Foundation (AEF) has recently garnered support to purchase art kits for Alameda low-income students and distributed the first batch of 320 kits. As one parent said, the kits are “a blessing.”

AEF has decided to order an additional 500 kits to help support Alameda’s more low-income students. Kits cost just $10 each. The kits are customized by grade level and contain: coloring and activity books, construction and drawing paper, chalk, markers, clay, paint and much more.
They are pre-packaged by the supplier, making them safe for distribution. Kits are being distributed during Alameda Unified School District meal pickups.

AEF relies on the generosity of the community to fill in the gaps and make sure local children have the educational opportunities they need to grow and thrive. To make a tax-deductible donation, send a check to Alameda Education Foundation, PO Box 1363, Alameda, CA 94501, or visit www.alamedaeducation.org.
