Former Hornet Earns Top Honors in Big West 400-Meter Hurdle
Former Alameda High School sprinter (2010), Kellie Grigg, is the new 2014 NCAA Big West Conference Women’s 400 Meter Hurdle Champion. Grigg, a senior from the University of California at Davis, converted from sprints to hurdles just two years ago, and has steadily climbed the school’s hurdle rankings. Grigg (pictured at left) currently ranks fifth all-time in UC Davis’ 100-meter Hurdles and third all-time in the 400-meter hurdles.
Her 10-point, first-place finish also helped the Aggies edge Cal State Northridge to win their third consecutive Big West Conference team championship. For the past two seasons, Grigg also has been named to the Big West Conference’s All-Academic Team.
