Flipout Fun also Raises Funds

Fans of cinema and the silver ball came together last Thursday to raise funds for the potential Pacific Pinball Museum relocation to the Alameda’s Carnegie Library. Thousands were raised at the Alameda Theatre & Cineplex through donations, sales of commemorative T-shirts and patches and a live auction raising around $5,000 through the sales of pinball memorabilia.

The event coincided with a screening of the cult film Tommy. That film inspired the creation of three pinball titles and the character Captain Fantastic, originally played by Elton John. The museum also screened shorts about its efforts to to occupy the long-vacant Alameda Carnegie Library. To find out more, visit www.
