Crewmembers scraped up and properly disposed of a small amount of dried paint. 5:26 p.m. Lincoln Avenue, block number not given, Dumpster fire. Firefighters used a fire extinguisher to put out the small fire. 6:16 p.m. 400 block of Buena Vista Avenue, apartment fire alarm; 7:57 p.m. 2800 block of Clay Street, residential fire alarm.

Fire responses: 6:42 a.m. 1000 block of Marina Village Parkway, commercial fire alarm; 8:12 a.m. 2000 block of Santa Clara Avenue, apartment fire alarm; 12:15 p.m. 1600 block of Paru Street, East Bay Municipal Utilities District (EBMUD) crewmembers punctured an underground gas line. Firefighters secured the area and called for a Pacific Gas & Electric Co. (PG&E) crew to respond. They turned the scene over to the PG&E crewmembers when they arrived. 1:21 p.m. 500 block of Buena Vista Avenue, apartment fire alarm; 4:14 p.m. 1400 block of Central Avenue, natural gas leak inside an apartment building. Firefighters confirmed the odor of natural gas, turned off the utilities, ventilated the area and called for a PG&E crew to respond. They turned the scene over to the PG&E crewmembers when they arrived. 5:41 p.m. 1200 block of Pearl Street, illegal outside burning. Firefighters informed the resident of the city’s no-burning ordinance and put out the small debris fire.

Fire responses: 9:34 a.m. 1200 block of Fernside Boulevard, commercial fire alarm; 8:11 p.m. Willow Street, block number not given, outside natural gas odor. Firefighters confirmed the slight odor of gas and called PG&E to investigate. They turned the scene over to PG&E crewmembers when they arrived. 10:08 p.m. Constitution Way, block number not given, outside smoke investigation. Firefighters determined smoke was coming from a naturally decomposing compost pile. There was no emergency. 11:06 p.m. 200 block of Central Avenue, flooding inside a first-floor apartment. Firefighters determined the water was coming from a broken washing machine in a third-floor apartment. They turned off the water and power to the appliance and helped mop up standing water. They notified the building manager of the water damage and turned the scene over to a building maintenance crew. 11:51 p.m. 900 block of Shorepoint Court, commercial fire alarm.
