Emergency medical responses: 3:22 a.m. Neptune Garden Avenue; 8:06 a.m. Corpus Christi Road; 2:47 p.m. Encinal Avenue; 4:47 p.m. Monte Vista Avenue; 4:55 p.m. Sweet Road; 5:21 p.m. Crown Drive; 7:06 p.m. San Antonio Avenue; 7:31 p.m. 85th Avenue in Oakland; 8:38 p.m. West Hornet Avenue; 9:04 p.m. Third Street; 9:10 p.m. Blanding Avenue.

Fire responses: 1:59 a.m. Otis Drive (block number not given), outside odor investigation. Fire crews searched the area and found no odor source or other emergencies; 7:56 a.m. 2400 block of Clement Avenue, commercial fire alarm; Noon, West Mall Square, report of a leaking fire hydrant. Fire crews tightened the hydrant seal stopping the leak; 12:09 p.m. Wellfleet Bay, report of a residential carbon monoxide detector activation. Fire crews arrived and determined the presence of carbon monoxide inside the residence due to vehicle exhaust that accidentally filled the home with carbon monoxide. Firefighters used a power fan to ventilate the residence of all hazardous gases; 12:57 p.m. 2200 block of Otis Drive, response for a small child accidentally locked inside a vehicle. Fire crews used auto entry tools to gain access into the vehicle and reunite the uninjured child with her parent; 3:28 p.m. 1600 Park Street, commercial fire alarm; 7:39 p.m. 700 block of Buena Vista Avenue, response for the report of a possible residential natural gas leak. Firefighters arrived and confirmed the presence of natural gas inside the residence and secured all natural gas to the property. Pacific Gas & Electric Co. (PG&E) called to the scene for inspection and necessary repairs. Scene turned over to PG&E on their arrival.

Fire responses: 12:05 p.m. 1000 block of Trellis Lane, citizen assist; 10:04 p.m. 1900 block of Shore Line Drive, report of a small bonfire on the beach. Fire crews arrived and extinguished the small, contained fire; 10:21 p.m. 400 block of Pacific Avenue, report of smoke inside a apartment unit. Fire crews arrived and determined the occupant had extinguished a small kitchen stove fire. Firefighters confirmed complete extinguishment, no fire extension and ventilated the residence of all residual smoke.

Monday, July 28

Emergency medical responses: 1:14 a.m. Central Avenue; 10:02 a.m. Shore Line Drive; 1:33 p.m. Stardust Place; 5:48 p.m. Atlantic Avenue; 7:56 p.m. Mound Street; 8:04 p.m. Hansen Avenue; 9:34 p.m. Santa Clara Avenue; 10:16 p.m. Lincoln Avenue.

Fire responses: 2:52 p.m. 1700 block of Kofman Parkway, residential water leak. Crewmembers turned off the water and advised resident to have the leak repaired; 5:25 p.m. 2400 block of Clement Avenue, commercial fire alarm; 7:10 p.m. 700 block of Central Avenue, apartment fire alarm; 9:54 p.m. Puddingstone Road, block number not given, citizen assist; 1:01 p.m. 300 block of Willow Street; report of malfunctioning stove. Crewmembers turned off the power to the appliance and checked for any excessive heat behind the stove, but found none. They advised the resident to have a service technician make necessary repairs before using the stove again.

Fire responses: 9:27 a.m. 1400 block of Oak Street; commercial fire alarm; 3:20 p.m. San Jose Avenue, block number not given, report of smoldering dried brush near a residence. Firefighters used a water extinguisher and stopped the smoldering. 5:30 p.m. 1100 block of Morton Street, residential fire alarm; 5:32 p.m. 1900 block of Union Street, apartment fire alarm; 5:36 p.m. 2600 block of Blanding Avenue, report of smoke inside a building. Firefighters were unable to locate any smoke or unusual odors. They advised the reporting party to call back if the odor returned. 5:52 p.m. 1100 block of Bismarck Lane, citizen assist.

Firefighters investigated but were unable to locate the presence of natural gas; 8:01 a.m. 1900 block of San Antonio Avenue, residential fire alarm; 9:39 a.m. South Shore Center, citizen assist.

Sunday, Aug. 3

Emergency medical responses: 7:23 a.m. Willie Stargell Avenue; 7:24 a.m. Sea View Parkway; 9:35 a.m. Lincoln Avenue; 11:18 a.m. Waterview Isle; 12:32 p.m. North Loop Road; 1:38 p.m. Park Street; 3 p.m. Stardust Place; 3:23 p.m. Park Street; 5:04 p.m. Broadway; 6:14 p.m. Willow Street; 6:17 p.m. Webster Street.

Fire responses: 7:56 a.m. 1300 block of Park Street, report of natural gas odor. Firefighters inspected the area with an atmospheric monitor. They advised Pacific Gas & Electric Company of the incident and requested the utility investigate the incident. 9:37 p.m. 1700 block of Chapin Street, report of arcing power line. Firefighters confirmed the arcing line and contacted Alameda Municipal Power (AMP). They turned over to AMP when its crew arrived. 4:23 p.m. 400 block of Pacific Avenue, apartment fire alarm.
