Fall Sports Roundup

Week two of the fall sports season saw some surprising outcomes for Alameda high school sports teams on the fields and courts.

Football
The Alameda High School football team came up short in its contest against Washington of Fremont. The Hornets did put up a much better fight than in their previous outing. The Hornets lost 14-8 last Friday, Sept. 2, at home. The loss moves them to 0-2 on the year.

The Encinal High School team cruised to another shutout victory last Friday. The Jets led 20-0 after one quarter and 27-0 at halftime. They went on to cruise to a 40-0 victory over Terra Linda of San Rafael. It was Encinal’s second shutout. They have outscored opponents 114-0.

Volleyball
