Enjoy New Years Eve on the West End
There is no shortage of fun things to do on the West End this New Year’s Eve.
The Fireside, at 1453 Webster St., has a no-cover event featuring a Rockabilly band called The Revtones. Dance to their rocking sounds from 8 p.m. until well into the New Year. The Revtones are an eight-piece band dedicated to presenting the hits of the 1950s and ’60s.
The Hunter, located at 1403 Webster St., will be hosting its fifth annual Pipe-a-thon. Bagpipers will play “Auld Lang Syne” sometime between 7 and 9 p.m. These local bagpipers will perform in every bar in Alameda on New Year’s Eve with the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.
The long-time Alameda mainstay, Pier 29 Restaurant, at 1148 Ballena Blvd., has a holiday menu as well as a prix fixe menu including a choice of prime rib or New York steak, as well as garlic prawns, crab cakes for appetizers and dessert. Dinner will be served from 3 to 9 p.m.
Enjoy New Year’s Eve aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Hornet. A special Big Band Dance Fundraising Gala for the Museum’s Education Department. 7:30 to 1 p.m., featuring 3 O’Clock Jump, a 16-piece classic big band. Find out more about the fun onboard atuss-hornet.org.
