Elks Support City’s Parks Department

The Alameda Elks Lodge No. 1015 recently contributed time and funds to the Alameda Parks and Recreation Department (ARPD) so that it might continue the famed T-shirt baseball league based at Krusi Park. “I cannot express how important it is to our children participating in this program,” said Lodge Chaplin Dan Timney. “It helps them become better people, develop socially and brings enthusiasm to their young lives.” Elks’ funding went directly to the kids through the purchase of T-shirts, sponsorships that help low-income parents with enrollment and baseball equipment for the year. “Alameda Elks Lodge No. 1015 will be there always for these children and will continue our support for ARPD,” said Timney, who along with fellow Elk and longtime Park Street business owner, Frank George, spearheaded the effort.
