Elks Hoops Shoot Set for Friday
The 40th Annual National Elks Hoops-Shoot contest will be held tomorrow Jan. 10 at 6 p.m. at the Alameda Point Gymnasium.
The program is open to both boys and girls, eight to 13 years of age. Each participant shoots 25 free throws, and the top three shooters in each age and gender group advance to the finals.
The event is sponsored by the Alameda Elks Lodge #1015 and administered by the Alameda Recreation & Parks Department at various city parks, the Alameda Boys & Girls Club and the Elks Lodge. Competitors include the following, divided by age and gender group and the park they’ve chosen to represent.
8 & 9 Year Old Boys
