Players from the Oakland Raiders and representatives from the National Football League (NFL) visited Maya Lin School on Tuesday to reward students there for winning the Super Bowl Play 60 Challenge, a fitness program developed by the NFL and the American Heart Association.
Anita Hollerer-Squire has lived in Alameda for three years. She is originally from Austria, and has spent many years travelling around the world. Her husband is part of Artemis Racing, the Swedish team that took part in the 34th America’s Cup races in 2013.
Alameda’s Tomorrow Youth Repertory presents Into the Woods Jr., a retelling of the Grimm Brothers’ classics. The show intertwines the plots of several traditional fairy tales, with characters lifted from Cinderella, Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood and Jack and the Beanstalk.
