Portions of Alameda and Oakland were without power Sunday, Feb. 19, after a fire broke out at the PG&E substation at in the area of 5000 Coliseum Way. More than 54,000 residents in Oakland and Alameda were reported to have lost power on Sunday.
At its Feb. 14 meeting, the Alameda Unified School District (AUSD) Board of Education voted, 4-1, to phase out the middle school program at Bay Farm School (BFS).
An Alameda landlord will be forced to pay their former tenants a large settlement for committing several tenant harassment violations, according to the Alameda City Attorney’s Office.
On Tuesday, Feb. 7, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Alameda police officers were notified of a pedestrian struck by a motorist at the intersection of Marcuse Street and Mecartney Road.
