Downtown Announces Return of Popular Whiskey Stroll

Handcrafted small-batch whiskeys paired with yummy bites prepared by local chefs await guests as they stroll through Alameda’s historic district at the second annual Downtown Alameda Whiskey Stroll on Friday evening, March 1, from 6 to 9 p.m.

Ticket holders will have the opportunity to visit unique downtown shops and spaces while tasting premium whiskeys from around the Bay Area and learning about the creative process behind each unique flavor. Price of admission includes collectible tasting glass, premium whiskey tastings at 11 unique downtown locations, a delectable bite at each location prepared by downtown eateries, as well as a commemorative guide. Come early for the pre-stroll specials and stay late to visit additional downtown restaurants, shops and bars offering exclusive specials to participants.

“Downtown Alameda’s first-ever Whiskey Stroll sold out in a flash last year and attendees of the event have been waiting for this announcement ever since,” said Janet Magleby, executive director of the Downtown Alameda Business Association. “The 2019 Whiskey Stroll will feature 11 premium whiskeys curated alongside 11 scrumptious bites prepared by local chefs.”

Distinguished distilleries represented at the event come from different regions of the Bay Area including St. George Spirits from Alameda, Wright & Brown Distilling Co. from neighboring Oakland, and TreeCraft Distillery from Treasure Island. Other artisanal distilleries currently lined up are Corbin Cash, Griffo Distillery, Home Base Spirits, Lost Republic Distilling Co., Seven Stills, Spirit Works Distillery, Sutherland Distillery and Venus Spirits. Many of the whiskeys will be available for purchase at CRAFT Beer & Wine — Alameda’s premium bottle shop specializing in European wines, barrel-aged beers and spirits.

Ticket prices are $40 each until Friday, Feb. 22, and, if still available, increase to $50 after that date. All participants must be 21 and older. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 1.

The Downtown Alameda Whiskey Stroll is sponsored by Beacon Business Bank, Common Networks, and CRAFT Beer & Wine along with the 11 downtown tasting venues: All Good Living, Bonne Vie, Daisy’s, Honey Salon, LF Cochrane and Associates, OMM Mason Management, Park Centre Animal Hospital, RE/MAX Tribute, Subway, Sumbody Sumtime Spa and Tootsies Alameda.
