Doctors Pronounce Man Recovered in Estuary Dead

Bill Garvine &nbsp&nbsp Alameda Fire Department rescue swimmers used a private dock along the Oakland Estuary to prepare to retrieve an unconscious man from the water. The victim was later pronounced dead.

Doctors Pronounce Man Recovered in Estuary Dead

At 1:20 p.m., Tuesday, June 15, the Alameda Fire Department responded to the report of an unconscious person in the waters of the Oakland Estuary near High Street Bridge. The response involved 16 fire fighters and included the department’s rescue boat. They located an adult male in the water east of the High Street Bridge. An AFD rescue swimmer brought the man to the rescue boat. Paramedics then transported the victim to Highland Hospital in Oakland, where doctors pronounced him dead. The Alameda Police Department and the United States Coast Guard also responded to the call.
