From the Desk of the Executive Director
On Webster Street the flags are up and look inspiring as we celebrate our nation’s independence! Please join the merchants of the West Alameda Business Association as the parade turns off Central Avenue onto Webster Street ending at Lincoln Avenue and stay and enjoy Webster! Several local restaurants will be open to serve the parade audience.
Concerts at the Cove
Then, for even more fun near Webster Street, the Concerts at the Cove series starts Friday, July 12, 5:30 to 7 p.m. with Majestic, a Tribute to Journey, performing hits like “Don’t Stop Believin’” and “Wheel in the Sky.” Then Friday, Aug. 9, Jazz Mafia performs, followed by SambaDa, a traditional Afro-Brazilian music blended with funk, rock and reggae on Friday, Sept. 13.
Come join the fun. While the music plays, partake in food, drinks, dancing and more. Calafia and Café Jolie will supply the audience with their great food offerings. Wine and beer will be available from local purveyors: Rosenblum Cellars, Rock Wall Wine Company, Faction Brewing and Drake’s Brewing.
Come with the family, make it an office party for staff or a neighborhood meetup. Concerts at the Cove is presented by the Rotary Club of Alameda and is the club’s major fundraiser for its community grants program. Have a beer for the cause!
The MiniMaker Faire will return to Alameda Point Sunday, Aug. 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness takes place at the intersection of West Ranger Avenue and Saratoga Street. The closest address is 905 West Ranger Ave.
This event needs volunteers to help make it possible. To take on a shift at the MiniMaker Faire, visit www.signupgenius.com/go/805094CABAD2DA6F49-volunteer.
