Del Monte Building Construction Causes Another Road Closure

City of Alameda--Construction on Alta Buena Vista, a 372-unit luxury mixed-use project at the site of the long-closed Del Monte Warehouse, continues to cause road closures.

Del Monte Building Construction Causes Another Road Closure

Entrance Road, between Buena Vista and Clement, will be closed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, until May 27, according to the City of Alameda.

The road closure is due to continued construction around the historic Del Monte building. Detours, traffic control measures, and signage are in place.

Intermittent lane closures will continue around the project to provide a safe working area. When possible, consider using an alternate route to alleviate traffic in the neighborhood.

This is the second elongated road closure due to construction around the historic Del Monte building in the last six months. Sherman Street, between Buena Vista Avenue and Wind River Road was closed from Dec. 6, 2021, to Jan. 14 of this year (“West End Road Closed for December,” Dec. 9, 2021). The road was supposed to reopen before the new year, but it was extended an extra two weeks due to delays in construction caused by rainy weather (“Street Closure Extended,” Dec. 30, 2021).

Real estate development and acquisition company Wood Partners is building a 372-unit luxury mixed-use project at the site (“Del Monte Project Moving Forward,” Feb. 25, 2020).
