County Transportation Commission hosts workshops

Alameda County Transportation Commission has joined with transit partners AC Transit and Livermore Amador Valley Transportation Authority/Wheels to host transportation open houses in Oakland, Hayward and Fremont this month. These open houses will provide opportunities to learn more about and discuss public transit, major streets and roadways, trucking, goods movement and shipping.

The first open house will be held this evening, Thursday, Jan. 14, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the transportation commission headquarters, 1111 Broadway, Oakland. The commission will host a second open house from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Jan. 23, at Hayward City Hall, 777 B St., Hayward. A third open house is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 31, at Fremont Library, 2400 Stevenson Blvd., Fremont.

The commission is in the process of updating the countywide transportation plan, a performance-based, long-range plan through 2040 for Alameda County’s multimodal transportation network and seeks public input on transportation projects and program priorities.
