City Workshops on Transit Set

City Workshops on Transit Set

The city of Alameda has announced the first in a series of  community workshops on citywide transit and transportation demand management plans on Thursday, May 5, at 6:30 p.m. in the Main Library at 1550 Oak St. City staff and a consultant team will request input from the public on existing transportation conditions, and goals and objectives.

During this 18-month effort, the City will identify opportunities for strategic transportation investment and coordination with transit providers to provide Alamedans with enhanced transportation options while reducing congestion, carbon footprint and air pollution.
All community members are welcome to participate in any of the upcoming workshops. A second community workshop is expected to be held in the fall.

Plans will be discussed at the next transportation commission meeting set for Wednesday, May 25; at the Planning Board Meeting set for Monday, June 13, and at a City Council meeting in July (date to be determined). All three meetings take place at Alameda City Hall in the City Council Chambers, 2263 Santa Clara Ave. at 7 p.m.
