City Tennis Tournament Slated
Tomorrow is the last day to apply for the 105th annual Alameda City Tennis Tournament. The event is the oldest continuous sporting event in the city. The tournament will be held the weekend of Friday, Sept. 7, through Sunday, Sept. 9. This year’s tournament will take place at the Fairfield Tennis Courts at Lower Washington Park, 740 Central Ave.
The entry fee is $35 for adult singles and $60 for adult doubles. Junior singles players will pay $25, while junior doubles teams pay $40.
The event is conducted by the Alameda Parks and Recreation Department. Entry forms are available at the Fairfield, Krusi, Franklin and Leydecker tennis courts, the ARPD office and the Harbor Bay Club. Interested parties can also apply online at www.alamedaca.gov/recreation/city
