City Sponsors Annual Retail Job Fair
The City of Alameda will co-sponsor its third annual Retail Job Fair for permanent and temporary holiday-season positions available at the Alameda Landing and South Shore shopping centers along with other nearby locations.
The Job Fair will be held Thursday, Sept. 14, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the South Shore Shopping Center, across from Trabocco and Charming Charlie.
The Retail Job Fair will have hiring representatives from Target, Macy’s, TJ Maxx, Charming Charlie, Total Woman Gym & Spa and many more local and regional employers.
Currently, 16 businesses have registered. Combined, they have more than 200 open positions, which include cashiers, sales associates, baristas, bank tellers and pilates instructors. Job seekers should come prepared with resumes and dressed in interview-appropriate attire.
“This is an opportunity for local jobs to be filled by residents, including students at the College of Alameda,” said Debbie Potter, the city’s community development director. “Retail trade and food services are two of the largest employment sectors in Alameda. The positions available at the job fair cover a wide variety of skill levels.”
