City Announces Art in City Hall Talent for 2019

 

The City of Alameda recently released the winners of a random lottery of 36 artist applications for its Art in City Hall program in 2019. In each quarter, the City Hall galleries will feature a different local artist and art organization.

  • From Jan. 11 to April 11 the First Floor Gallery will feature Michelle Mohler and the Third Floor Gallery will feature members of the Frank Bette Center for the Arts.
  • From April 12 to July 11, the First Floor Gallery will feature members of the Alameda Women Artists and the Third Floor Gallery will feature Cheryl Harawitz. 
  • From July 12 to Oct. 10, the First Floor Gallery will feature Jerome Szymczak and the Third Floor Gallery will feature members of the West End Arts & Entertainment District.
  • From Oct. 11 to Jan. 19, 2020, the First Floor Gallery will feature members of the Island Alliance of the Arts and the Third Floor Gallery will feature Larry Wilson. 

The city invites the public to an open house featuring the current art on display by Alameda artists Federica Colla and Ani Dimusheva on Friday, Nov. 30, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. For more information visit alamedaca.gov/artincityhall.
