City’s Invitation to Get Involved

City’s Invitation to Get Involved

he city is working on forming three to five community-based committees that would work on shaping the future of policing in Alameda and on learning about the history of racism here. According to a city press release, the ideal candidates for these committees would either live or work in Alameda and have three to five hours a month to participate in group meetings, likely over Zoom.

The tentative timeline for engagement is about eight months, during which members can commit to presenting findings to City Manager Eric Levitt, who would present these findings to City Council.

Please send an email indicating your interest to participate to City Manager Eric Levitt by August 12: elevitt@alamedaca.gov.
