Buschor Wins Alameda Nine Hole Club Championship

The Alameda Nine Hole Women’s Golf Club finished the Club Championship event on Tuesday, Aug. 29, at Corica Park with last year’s champion, Beatrice Lebrec passing the trophy to this year’s winner.

In the three-round tournament, Val Buschor had the low gross score of 123. Other top awards went to Diana Millado with a 105 net score for second place in the first flight. Kathy Nagakura and Sylvia Pang tied for third place in the first flight with matching 111 net scores.

In Flight 2, Beatrice finished in first place with a net score of 110. Peggy Marcenaro finished second in the second flight with a net 115 followed by Louise Eilhardt with a net 116.

Kay Park led Flight 3 with a net score of 115, followed by Esther Hong at net 119. Marietta Brown and Shelley Spiro tied for third place with matching net 123s. Club Champion Val is now eligible to represent the Alameda Niners in the Northern California Golf Association Regional Nine Hole Tournament of Champions on Nov. 1 at Poppy Ridge in Livermore, CA.
