Lady Hornets basketball wins Home Invitational
Alameda High School’s girls’ basketball team reigned supreme at the Lady Hornets Invitational. On Dec. 13, the team took home the winning trophy by beating the San Ramon Valley High Wolves 46-44 in an overtime championship-game matchup.
The Alameda Architectural Preservation Society (AAPS) will dedicate a plaque that depicts City Hall as it appeared when it was completed in 1896, complete with tower. City Hall is Alameda Historical Monument No. 1.
The ceremony will take place at 11 a.m., this Saturday, Nov. 22, in front of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Ave. AAPS will announce the kickoff of a a comprehensive plaque program.
The plaques will honor other monuments and historic buildings and educate the public about Alameda’s historic architectural resources.
