Alameda homeowners will see a new fee on their property tax bill effective July 1. Last week the Alameda County Waste Management Authority Board adopted a hazardous waste fee of $9.95 per year per household.

The city’s Community Development Department recently unveiled a new customer service initiative to improve the building permit process. “Alameda At Your Service” is a three-part program to help businesses secure building permits more quickly.
Effective July 1, recycling and composting will be mandatory for all businesses, institutions and multi-family homes in Alameda County, according to the Mandatory Recycling Ordinance and the Plant Debris Landfill Ordinance.
AC Transit fees changing
AC Transit will be changing up their fare options starting on Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Riders will be able to choose the option of a Day Pass, which provides the rider with unlimited travel on any regular line for $5.
