Baseball Registration Open

The Alameda Recreation and Park Department (ARPD) is teaming up with the Alameda Elk’s Lodge No. 1015 to present a free Summer Youth Recreational Baseball Program.

This non-competitive baseball program is for girls and boys who will complete kindergarten to fifth grades as of summer 2018. All grade levels will have practices and game play. The program focuses on leadership, integrity, confidence, teamwork, learning the game of baseball and, most importantly, having a good time.

Each participant receives a vintage-style T-shirt representing his or her park team. Teams will be forming at Bayport, Franklin, Lincoln, Tillman and Washington parks.

ARPD summer baseball has flourished since 1952 when former recreation supervisor and Vice Mayor A.J. “Lil” Arnerich formalized the league.

To sign up for this free program, visit ARPD online at or at the ARPD office located at 2226 Santa Clara Ave.
