Attack Team Seizes Another Title

Liz Rochlin     The Alameda Attack girls’ lacrosse team won its third straight NCJLA title in May.

The Alameda Attack girls high school lacrosse team won its third-straight Northern California Junior Lacrosse Association (NCJLA) championship May 21 at Patelco Fields in Pleasanton.

The team defeated the San Jose Extreme 12-6 to secure the “three-peat.” No NCJLA team has ever won three straight championships. Alameda advanced to the finals after beating Morgan Hill in the playoffs the weekend before.

The team finished the regular season in first place and ended with an overall record of 12-0-1. Alameda’s Rebecca Rochlin, Angela Sigler, Danielle Simpson, Kacy Stoddard and Brooke Tyler were named NCJLA All-Stars at a ceremony during the playoffs on May 13.

St. Joseph Notre Dame High School sponsors the team, which is comprised of girls from 11 different Bay Area high schools.

The team is coached by Caroline Stanton, with assistance from Beth McMahon-Wise and Steve Rochlin.
