Art Show to Celebrate the Park Street Bridge

Bonnie Randal Boller “Stuck in Traffic” will be one of the works on display as the Frank Bette Center celebrates Alameda’s Park Street Bridge in a new exhibition.

In a collaboration of the Alameda Women Artists, the Alameda Island Poets and other poets, the Frank Bette Center for the Arts (FBCA) will present a new show of artwork and poetry titled Celebrating the Park Street Bridge.

The show goes up tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 4, and will be on display until Christmas Eve. A formal opening and poetry reading is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 11, from 7 to 9 p.m.

The artists completed artwork in advance about the Park Street Bridge to inspire the poets. The visual art was posted on the FBCA website and poets were asked to respond with original poems. Participating artists include: Bonnie Randall Boller, Renee Doty, Patricia Edith, Glenna Mills, Thelma Richard, Amy Tanathorn and Susan Tsuchiya. Participating poets include: Cathy Dana, Truly Edison, Patricia Edith, Marilyn Flower, Persephone Hinitian, Mary Loughran and Ivy Nebeker.
