APD Arrests Wanted Felon

Ekene Ikeme

Alameda Police Department (APD) officers arrested a man last week who was wanted by several law-enforcement agencies for the transportation of narcotics.

An advisory was sent out last month to surrounding law enforcement agencies, including APD, stating the unidentified man was wanted for felony transportation and sales of methamphetamine.

Alameda police officers immediately recognized the individual as a person associated with several Alameda car thefts and weapon offenses and attempted to locate the suspect. Officers’ initial attempts to locate the wanted man were unsuccessful, but they eventually made contact with him after he exited his vehicle near his residence.

During the contact, the man admitted to driving on a suspended license, was found to have several bags of methamphetamine and cocaine for sale and was in possession of a loaded firearm.

The man was arrested for a felony warrant and possession of a firearm by a felon along with the transportation and sales of methamphetamine charges.
