AMP Among Greenest

For the third year in a row, Alameda Municipal Power (AMP) has been recognized as a national industry leader for its voluntary green-power program, Alameda Green. AMP has earned two separate top-10 rankings from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, the U.S. Department of Energy’s primary national laboratory for renewable energy and energy efficiency research.

The first ranking highlights AMP’s high percentage of customers participating in Alameda Green in 2017. With 8.9 percent of Alameda’s customers participating, earned AMP seventh place on the list of the nation’s utilities with the highest green power participation rate. AMP’s ranking shows a jump in participation from 2016, when the utility ranked eighth.

The second ranking placed AMP ninth in the nation with 3.2 percent of total utility megawatt-hour sales coming from Alameda Green.
