Alameda Writer Nominated for Edgar Award
The Edgar Allen Poe awards are given out each year on the writer’s birthday. Poe would have been 206 this year. The awards honor the best in mystery fiction, non-fiction and television. Mystery Writers of America coordinates the event which celebrates works published or produced in 2014 this year.
Alameda author Steven Hockensmith has been nominated. His title, Nick and Tesla’s Super-Cyborg Gadget Glove with co-author “Science Bob” Pflugfelder has earned a nomination in the best juvenile category. Hockensmith was also nominated for an Edgar for his debut novel Holmes on the Range in 2007.
The awards will be presented at an April 29 banquet at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City.
