The Alameda Women’s Golf Club hosted 47 golfers last Thursday, August 11 in a low net tournament held at the Chuck Corica Golf Course. Stephanie Bellato was the winner of the day with both the lowest net score with a net 68 and the lowest gross score with an overall 79. Bellato was on fire but not the only golfer to post great scores on the day.

There were six flights based on handicaps. Bellato won first place in flight 1. Cheryl Saxton finished in second place with a net 70. Tracey Perkins was one stroke back from Saxton in third place with a net 71. Lynn Jones and Julie Peele tied for fourth place with net 75s.

Maggie Lindquist took first place in flight 2 with a net 72. Sarah Valentine posted a net 74 for second place. Claudia Leed and Denise Link battled it out for third place with Leed posting the lower net of 76, and Link posting a net 77 for fourth place.

Diana Millado won flight 3 with a net 69, while Lily Boris finished with a net 74 to lock in second place. Lynn Wilton finished in third place with a net 75 followed by Sia Scates and Chizu Holes tying for fourth place at net 78.

In flight 4, Sandi Kaney came in first place posting a net 69. Kaney was seven strokes lower than Beatrice Lebrec who finished with a net 76 in second place. Peggy Marcenaro posted a net 77 for third place. Madeline Sally and Bernice Herzberg wrapped up the flight with a tie for fourth place at net 79.

Barbara Mickle and Yvonne Lee tied for first place in Flight 5 with matching net 70s. Jan Peyrot finished in third place at net 74 and Diane Hughes finished fourth at net 75. Barbara Mehan rounded out the top five with a net 81.

Carol Mariscal won flight 6 with a net 72. Janet Rhee posted a net 78 for second place while Marietta Brown finished third with a net 79. Completing the flight was a tie between B. Kay Park and Jean Eddy at net 81 for fourth place.
