The Alameda Women’s Golf Club played in a low net competition last Thursday, June 30. There were six flights and 42 golfers. Wind and chilly weather did not discourage the field from showing up to compete. Judy Eng was the overall low net winner for the week posting a score of 64 with Louise Eilhardt finishing just three strokes back at net 67 for second place.

In Flight 1, Lynn Kobatake continued her hot streak and took first place with a net 69 for the day. Jenny Bae finished in second place with a net 73 followed by Cheryl Saxton in third place at net 75. Maggie Lindquist and Lynn Jones rounded out the top five in flight 1 tied with net 78s.

Claudia Leed came in first place in flight 2 posting a low net of 72. Cynthia Withrow took second place alone with a net 75, while Jeanne Burke and Anne Landstrom tied for third place at net 79. Jeanne Yip posted a net 80 for fifth place.

Eng competed in flight 3. Her 64 earned her first place in the flight and the overall low net honors for the day. Sonia Kwak came in second place with a net 77. Sia Scates posted a net 79 for third place followed by Ann Ching and Chizu Holmes who tied for fourth place at net 81.

Eilhardt won flight 4 with a net 67. Deedee Appleton came in second place at net 71 followed by Yvonne Lee in third place at net 77 and Diane Hughes in fourth place at net 79.

The Flight 5 low net winner was Vivian Kang. Kang posted a net 73 for the day. Denise Gasti was one stroke behind with a net 74 for second place. Jane Sullwold posted a net 76 for third place and Susan Yoon finished in fourth place with a net 83.

Hazel Willacy posted a net 72 for first place in flight 6. Two strokes back at net 74 was B. Kay Park for second place followed by Lynette Mladinich at net 76 for third place. Janet Rhee wrapped up fourth place at net 77.
