Alameda Restaurant Week Returns and Other News

The second annual Alameda Restaurant Week returns to the island as part of the California Restaurant Month campaign to promote California’s culinary experiences. This year more than 40 restaurants throughout the Island are taking part, with dozens of eateries located conveniently in Downtown Alameda.

From Thursday, Jan. 17 to Sunday, Jan. 27, diners will support Alameda’s dining scene while having fun visiting local restaurants.

Participating businesses are offering special deals to make it worth the trip. Most of the restaurants will have a prix fixe menu with several choices that allow diners to taste a few items that may not appear on their regular menus. Other restaurants will be offering two-for-one entrees, happy hours menus or other culinary specials.

New this year, pick up a raffle card at any participating restaurant and get your card stamped at each participating restaurant you visit. After collecting at least 10 stamps, turn in your card to any participating restaurant to be entered for a chance to win more than $1,300 in Alameda restaurant gift cards.

Limited Edition T-Shirts Support Coast Guard

With the government shutdown continuing, civilians can only imagine the struggles that many federal employees are facing during this time. Paychecks are being put on hold but the bills, unfortunately, are not. In Alameda, the extensive Coast Guard community is being hit hard.
Working with the City of Alameda, Chris Tam and his team at All Good Living have created a fundraiser to directly help the Coast Guard members living in Alameda.

Starting Monday, Jan. 24, All Good Living is hosting a 10-day fundraising pre-sale event. A special collection of T-shirts and posters was designed by Seth Hamlin to recognize the Island City’s Coast Guard neighbors. The T-shirts are available in both adult and children’s sizes for $25. Posters are $10. 100 percent of the profits will go to Coast Guard members affected by the government shutdown.

To place an order online, look for the Coast Guard Fundraiser Collection on Or stop in to place an order at the All Good Living storefront located at 2332 Alameda Ave.

(Note: This is a 10-day pre-sale event. All orders will be completed seven days after the pre-sale ends.)
