Alameda Resident Amos White Appointed to County Agriculture Advisory Committee
Alameda resident and environmental executive, Amos White, was appointed to the Alameda County Agricultural Advisory Committee.
The Agricultural Advisory Committee is a technical advisory committee on agricultural matters to the Alameda County Board of Supervisors. Committee members will meet 10 times a year.
“I look forward to help develop the county’s urban and peri urban agricultural policy as we seek to support urban farmers to increase food sovereignty and community resilience,” White said.
White is founder and chief planting officer with 100K Trees for Humanity, an urban tree planting nonprofit. 100K Trees organizes cities and communities to plant trees at scale as a climate solution to sequester atmospheric carbon, provide shade, equity and healthy communities.
This is white’s second appointment to a public service board. White was appointed to the CA Urban Forestry Advisory Committee of CAL FIRE last year and received two statewide awards for his leadership in urban forestry advocacy.
White is also a writer and he ran for a city council seat in 2020.
