Alameda Nine Hole Women's Golf League Results

The annual Ham Shoot was held on Monday, March 6, at the Chuck Corica Golf Complex with a chill in the rainy air, wind, no eagle sightings and a fun game of Partner Scramble.

Flight 1's top prize went to the duo Hydeh Ghaffari and Yvette Whiteside with a total net of 30; and Ghaffari's birdie put them in first. Mary-Jo Knight and Peggy Marcenaro followed one stroke short with a net 31. Third place was claimed by Pearl Leung and Diana Millado, who also shot a net 31.

In Flight 2, the top prize went to Juanita Solano and Helen Moon, a newcomer to the league, with a 9-Hole net 29. Moon shot a birdie on Hole 5. Second place went to Helen Young and So Young Lee, tying first place with a net 29. Beatrice Lebrec and Siv Richards finished in third place with a 31. (Ties are broken by Golf Genius.) Ki Me Kim won the closest-to-pin on Hole 5 and Val Buschor was closest to pin on Hole 7. Low putts were also tied with 15 by Ki Me Kim and Syliva Pang.

The competition was followed by an award ceremony at Jim's On Course with our Flight 2 winner, Juanita Solano, accepting the trophy for herself and her partner who went on to play the back 9 as did the winners of Flight 1. Twenty-two members participated in the tournament arranged by President, Peggy Marcenaro and Sylvia Pang.
