Alameda Library Seeks Teen Input on Upcoming Projects

The Alameda Library holds its Teen Advisory Board meetings on the first Tuesday of each month. For September, the meeting will take place Tuesday, Sept. 5, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Stafford Room at Alameda Main Library, 1550 Oak St.

Teen Advisory Board members help library staff brainstorm, plan, and run events and programs for teens they would want to see at the library. The board also offers teens a chance to earn community service hours. Prospective members must be between 13 to 18 years old to join the Teen Advisory Board, .

The Alameda Main Library offers plenty of events for teens. There is a monthly book club, a Dungeons & Dragons event, and a Game Break event where visitors can play Nintendo Switch games (like Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, Super Mario Party, and Overcooked!) on the projector screen, watch others play, or even try out some cool board games.

For more information on the Teen Advisory Board, call 510-747-7713 or email Refdesk@alamedaca.gov. Follow up meetings will take place on Oct. 3, Nov. 7 and Dec. 5.
