Alameda High Students Design Logos for Local Organizations
Last month, several Alameda High School (AHS) students unveiled their logo designs for local non-profits and Alameda-based businesses.
The logo project was part of AHS’ Advanced Multimedia Art Class. In the class, teacher Andrea Szeto instructs AHS student design teams to create professional logos, or refresh existing logos, for local Alameda businesses and non-profits. This year, students completed logos for Alameda Canvas & Coverings, Mountain Elk Truffles, Alameda Family Services and more.
The AHS design team of Gabriel Pagal, Christopher Dwa, and Isaac Ballerini created a new logo for Franklin Elementary School (FES). The logo depicts a green falcon holding a textbook. FES is displaying the logo on its website banner.
“We have been wanting a new mascot for several years because ours looked either too fierce or our elementary school-friendly falcon looked more like a parrot,” said FES Principal Lynnette Chirrick in a press release. “It was a pleasure to work with the AHS design team members. When the process begins again next year, I highly recommend businesses in Alameda participate.”
Other logos include one for The Plant Portal, a local business, by AHS students Tongbei Yu and Justin Ha. Raye Tanjuakio and Maithili Pillai created a logo for Viva La Vida, a massage therapy business located at 1138 Ballena Blvd.; Lucy Vo, Dillion Liang, Jackson Tripi created a logo for Nola Li Barr, a local author; Dylan Watt and Matt Wilson created a logo for Elk Mountain Truffles. The team of Aneesh Patil, Jess Geluz, Rosalie Fong and Hex Aman produced a logo for Altarena Playhouse, a local theatre at 1409 High St.; Charlotte Bond, Danielle Cho and Alyssa Chen created a logo for Alameda Family Services; and AHS students Hex Aman and Rosalie Fong produced a logo for Alameda Canvas & Coverings, a boat supply retail business located at 2021 Alaska Packer Pl.
