Alameda Gators Compete in Orinda Swimming Meet
The Alameda Gators swim team competed at the Orinda Aquatics Meet in Moraga on June 11.
Girls’ Competition
Eight-year-old Emily Kramer won the girls’ six- to eight-year-old age bracket 50-meter freestyle competition with a time of 39.53. Kramer also won the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 1:33.87 and the 50-meter butterfly with a time of 47.65.
Nine-year-old Gator Jane Allison finished second in the girls’ nine- to 10-year-old (9-10) age bracket C Division 50-meter freestyle competition with a time 44.23. Allison also finished seventh in the 100-meter freestyle race with a time of 1:42.64.
Sophia Brito, 11, finished 15th out of 30 participants in the girls’ 11- to 12-year-old age bracket C Division 50-meter butterfly race with a time of 42.80.
Mako Kashimura, 14, won the girls’ 13- to 14-year-old age bracket B Division 50-meter freestyle race with a time of 32.03. Fifteen participants competed in the race. Kashimura also finished second in the girls’ 100-meter freestyle with a time of 1:12.32.
Eva Younquist, 14, finished first out of 24 athletes in the girls’ 13- to 14-year-old age bracket C Division 100-meter breaststroke competition with a time of 1:28.45. She also finished first in the girls’ B Division 200-meter breaststroke race with a time of 3:11.17 and the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 2:57.07.
Miranda Massie, 16, won the girls’ 15- to 18-year-old B Division 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:36.36.
Boys’ Competition
Aaron Cramer, nine, won the boys’ nine- to 10-year-old age bracket BB Division 50-meter freestyle with a time of 35.0.
Jacob Wong, 15, finished first in the boys’ 15- to 18-year-old Division C 50-yard freestyle race with a time of 28.70. Wong also won the Division C race in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 1:03.39 and 200-meter backstroke with a time of 2:51.25.
