Alameda County District 3 Board Supervisor Candidate Lena Tam

As a lifelong resident of District 3, I will make Alameda County healthier and safer. As the daughter of immigrant parents, I learned the need to make public services accessible to everyone, especially the historically underserved.

I have focused my entire career on serving Alameda County residents. As Vice-Mayor of Alameda, I secured housing for low-income seniors. As elected President of the City of Alameda Health Care District, I kept Alameda Hospital open with emergency services. As Chair of the Alameda County Planning Commission, I approved new homes and preserved open space. As the Water Resources Planning Manager at East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD), I developed climate resilience and emergency action plans for the East Bay.

As your Supervisor, I will fight to make us safer and stronger by funding violence-prevention programs, mental health workers and police patrol. I will build more affordable housing and strengthen programs that help our unhoused neighbors. I’ll support healthcare services, mental health services and access to reproductive health services. At a time when many, especially in the Asian-American community, are targeted for hate crimes, I’ll provide the resources needed to keep every community safe.

I’m endorsed by Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf, San Leandro Mayor Pauline Russo Cutter, Alameda Mayor Marilyn Ezzy Ashcraft, current County Supervisor Dave Brown, former Supervisors Alice Lai-Bitker and Senator Don Perata, State Treasurer Fiona Ma, State Controller Betty Yee, the Asian Pacific American Democratic Caucus of Alameda County and the East Bay Times and Sing Tao Daily. www.LenaTam.com
