Three Alameda Boys & Girls Club teens: Fatimah Grant, Siyah Youngblood and Camilo Gazino-Obrera attended the world premiere of Disney Pixar’s newest film, Onward, after being selected to design a T-shirt in partnership with Old Navy. Old Navy is celebrating the launch of Onward with a line of special edition tees designed by talented Boys & Girls Club kids. Through the retailer’s community platform, serendipitously also entitled “Onward!,” Old Navy helps create a better tomorrow for future generations. The shirts, along with additional film merchandise, are available for sale in Old Navy stores and online.

The group of Island City teens who had an interest in art and STEM were invited to visit Pixar’s world-famous animation studios to meet members of Onward’s design team — from storyboard artists and effects specialists, to character developers and producers — to learn about the fascinating process of making an animated film. After watching clips of Onward, the teens designed shirts inspired by themes and characters from the film, and the young Alameda designers were off to Hollywood for the world premiere of Onward, which hit theaters on March 6.
