Women’s Cross Country
Encinal High School (EHS) sophomore Katelyn Shafer was named the West Alameda County Conference (WACC) Shoreline League women’s runner of the year for the 2022 Fall season. Schafer, junior Isabela Macias-Fraser, sophomore Lexi Altura and her freshman teammate Wren Dieter-Weisman were named to the WACC cross-country first team. EHS sophomore Cadence Tramel, and freshmen Avo Luo and Adaysia Hernandez were named to the second team.

Alameda High School (AHS) senior Sophia Carpenter was named WACC Foothill League women’s runner of the year for the 2022 Fall season. She was also named to the WACC cross-country first team. Fellow AHS senior Camille Dawson was named to the second team.

Men’s Cross Country
EHS freshman Jayden Smith was named to the WACC Shoreline League men’s cross-country first team. EHS senior Diego Cerna, sophomore Laith Owens, and junior Mateo Delgado made the Shoreline League second team.

AHS junior Max Bellotti was selected to the WACC Foothill men’s cross-country second team.

Women’s Golf
AHS senior Penny Chai was named WACC co-golfer of the year with Chelsie Chin from Bishop O’Dowd of Oakland. Chai was also named to the WACC women’s first team along with her teammates Hannah Kwon, Nyomi Stevenson, and Nylani Stevenson.

Women’s Tennis
EHS junior Sofia Layzer was named the WACC Shoreline League women’s tennis player of the year. Layzer and teammate Kaila Geritz were named to the Shoreline League first team. Megan Ngai was selected to the doubles first team.

AHS tennis players Juliana Johnson and Renata Cerna were selected to the WACC Foothill singles first team. AHS players Vankhanh Hoang and Angeline Yi were selected to the doubles’ first team.

Women’s Volleyball
AHS women’s volleyball players Alita Buser and Mendee Ganbaatar were selected to the WACC Foothill League women’s first team. EHS volleyball player Naomi White also was selected to the Foothill League first team. AHS players Danielle Cho and Katja MacHardy were named to the Foothill League second team.

St. Joseph Notre Dame (SJND) seniors Mia Luna and Jazzmyn McDaniel were named to the Bay Counties League (BCL) East League volleyball first team. SJND sophomore Lexi Roben was named to the BCL East second team.

Women’s Water Polo
EHS senior Erebecca Gleason and junior Valentina Suarez were selected to the WACC women’s water polo first team. EHS senior Vivian Barber and junior Lola Whalen were selected to the WACC women’s water polo second team.

AHS senior Kate Krautler and junior Ava Lisitza were also named to the WACC women’s water polo first team. AHS junior Zoe Seltzer and freshman Kylie Zorn were named to the WACC second team.

Men’s Water Polo
AHS senior Jonathan Amaden and freshman Zach Dortch were named to the WACC men’s water polo first team. AHS junior Henry Cooper was named to the second team.
