Alameda’s Newest Postmaster Named

The Alameda Post Office swore in a new Postmaster last Friday, March 7, at its 2200 Shore Line Drive location.

Around 8:30 a.m., Danny Sosa raised his right hand and took the official oath of office as postmaster at the Alameda post office branch. Jack Boster, manager of post office operations, administered the official oath.

Sosa, 49, started his postal career 31 years ago as a San Francisco mail handler in 1983. He moved into management as an acting supervisor and Officer-in-Charge at the Brentwood, Moraga, Lafayette and Orinda post offices prior to his selection as the Alameda Postmaster.

His wife Dorri and his three children Juan, Brigette and Jordin accompanied Sosa at the ceremony.

Sosa will oversee 108 employees and 54 city routes as Alameda Postmaster.
