AJGC Play Rolls On
The Alameda Junior Golf Club held another summer event Wednesday, Aug. 10, at the Chuck Corica Golf Complex.
Tucker Backer shot a 78 to win the boys’ 16- to 18-year-old division. He squeezed by Nolan Floyd who shot a 79 for second place. David Espino posted an 86 for third place.
Adrian Davis blew away the competition in the 14- to 15-year-old division with a 73. That was more than 20 strokes ahead of second-place golfer Liam Neal who posted a 95. Torin Martin shot a 98 for third place.
Alpiu Esguerra shot a 74 to win the 12- to 13-year-old division. Nicholas Ferry shot an 80 for second place, while Jopsh Aquino posted an 88 for third place.
Elizabeth Scholtes shot a 74 to win the girls’ 15- to 18-year-old competition. Corine Tan shot a 78 for second place. Bernadette Perenne shot an 83 for third place. Alexis Esguerra posted a 77 to win the 12- to 14-year-old division. Isabel Kim was right on her heels with a 79 for second place. Alexis Quan finished way behind the top two at 115, but still managed to claim third place.
Jake Fox won the boys’ 11-and-over, par-3 competition with a 36. This competition was played on the nine-hole Mif Albright Course. Ryan Floyd shot a 45, while Zak Usac shot a 47. Penny Chai won the girls’ 10-11 par-3 competition with a 30. Abagail Lam posted a45 for second place.
Amaan Kanji won the boys’10-11 division with a 34. Zackery Williams shot a 43, while Ethan Gonzalez shot a 46 for third place.
Pepper Chai won the girls’ 10-11 nine-hole competition with a 33. Mia Won posted a 45.
