After School Classes Coming Soon

The return of the academic school year also brings the return of Alameda Education Foundation’ (AEF) After School Enrichment Classes. The program offers hundreds of after school classes for students from kindergarten to eighth grade. Classes focus on athletics, art/crafts, performing arts, math, science, technology, languages, writing and much more.

AEF classes are NOT one size fits all, rather students and their parents can select classes and activities that align with the student’s interests and passions. AEF classes are held at every Alameda Unified School District elementary school and Nea. Middle school programs are at central locations.

Scholarships are available to students and parents who are enrolled in a food assistance program or qualifies for assistance under the McKinney-Vento Act, Alameda Point Collaborative, or similar program. Parents or guardians requesting assistance but who are not covered under the above conditions can still request a scholarship by emailing Enrichment@AlamedaEducation.org.

Registration opens Aug. 17 at 9:30 a.m. Prices will increase by $10 after Sept. 7. Registration closes at 11:59 p.m. two business days prior to the start of each class — most classes begin in the first week of September. Classes fill up fast, so it’s a good idea to know which classes the child is interested in in advance.
