AFD Offers Home Safety Program

The Alameda Fire Department Home Safety Program provides services to low-to-moderate income residents over 62 and to the disabled of any age.

The program provides and installs the newly required "10-year maintenance-free" smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. The program also installs grab bars, handrails, raised toilets and provides nightlights, flashlights and grab sticks.

The program is available free for Alameda residents and their families.

If you are an interested Alameda resident, call Ruth Ann Crawford at 337-2133 to see if you or your loved one qualifies.
