AEF Elects New Boardmembers
The Alameda Education Foundation (AEF) recently announced the election of Ximena de la Rossi, Kelly Scott and Angie Watson-Hajjem to its board of directors. They will serve three-year terms beginning in July.
“Ximena, Kelly and Angie are all active in their school communities and committed to supporting AEF in its mission,” said AEF president Bill Sonneman.
De la Rossi has served on various school committees, including the parent advisory committee for the Local Control and Accountability Plan and the English Learner Advisory Committee. She has also served as an AEF volunteer enrichment coordinator at Paden Elementary School, on the Policy Council for Alameda Family Services and as a volunteer for Head Start’s Literacy program.
Scott recently completed her term as PTA president at Lum Elementary School and as Lum’s executive vice-president, garden chairperson. She has also assisted in organizing several large fundraisers and community-building events at Lum.
Watson-Hajjem brings a wealth of experience in marketing and public relations, as well as civic, media and social services. She has been an active volunteer at Alameda schools and is passionate about helping Alameda schools give the best they have to students.
“I believe these new members will help AEF in our growth and continued impact on Alameda students,” added Sonneman. “Their experience and involvement in schools will provide a valuable perspective as we move forward.”
