2nd Friday Artwalk Has Locally Handcrafted Holiday Gift Ideas

The West End has always lent itself, quite naturally, to arts and entertainment given its history of recreation made most famous by Neptune Beach.

This month’s 2nd Friday Artwalk is being held this Friday, Nov. 11, all around Alameda. Restaurants, bars, salons and other retail spaces have joined respectable art galleries and studios in this once-a-month celebration of the arts.

Webster Street businesses such as the Fireside Lounge, Cookiebar, Hairtech, WesCafé, West End Crepe and the Shamrock Pub have agreed to showcase artwork this Friday.

There will be more than 10 craft vendors and live musical acts setting up shop in front of some of the local businesses. The participation from Webster merchants complement the openings at galleries and businesses all over town including: Studio 23, 3Dot Gallery, The Alley, Redux Studios & Gallery, The Frank Bette Center for the Arts, Alameda Island Brewing, Lucky 13, Rhythmix Cultural Works and Vintiq.

This month’s featured artists include: Cheyanne Donald, Jack Esef, Lemanuel Shelley, Geo Angeles, Zee Zelesky, Rhino the Reject, Mikey Elliott, Emilee Sorenson, Fesa Aquino and Kirkland Melton. Craft artisans displaying their work this month include: Emily Jue, Nala Bean, Taren Allen, “Made by Mo,” Jaime Matheron, Dani Robison, Karri Jose and more.

Jessica Warren, Wesley Warren, Sara Edge, Dave Sylvester, Sandy Russell and Jack Gonzales are just some of the local artists who have been involved in the creation of this ongoing community event. They believe art can create and inspire any and all communities as well as empower them.

With music, food, friends and family, art and entertainment, Alameda’s 2nd Friday Artwalk is just one more way Alameda’s West End is becoming more lively and vibrant.
