2017 Turkey Drive Set

For many decades the Alameda community has come together to support local families during the holiday season. Last year, the community donated more than 1,100 turkeys, which were distributed, along with other holiday food items, to Alameda Food Bank’s clients. This year the Food Bank aims to collect 1,100 turkeys by Wednesday, Nov. 8.

  • Turkey Donors: Bring turkeys (preferably frozen) to 1900 Thau Way Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. For a large donation of turkeys, call 523-6064 or email warehousemanager @alamedafoodbank.org to coordinate a drop at the Food Bank’s warehouse.
  • Turkey Recipients: Turkeys will be distributed to current Alameda Food Bank clients on a first-come, first-served basis on Saturday, Nov. 18, between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the Food Bank warehouse located at 650 W. Ranger Ave.

In addition to receiving a turkey, holiday foods such as mashed potatoes, yams and cranberries will be available. New this year, turkeys will be available during regular monthly pantry pick-ups starting Wednesday, Nov. 1.
